May Day & Grand Teton National Park Openings

While the snow clouds are still gathered over the Tetons and snow continues to fall at the upper elevations, blooming daffodils, patches of blue sky, and newborn calves and wildlife are all signs that spring is in the air and summer will soon follow.

Today, as we celebrate May Day, we also celebrate the reopening of the roads in Grand Teton National Park.  The ability to drive through the park and hopefully soon, access your favorite hiking trails, gives us all a glimmer of hope that winter is behind us.

Here are some additional key opening dates to keep in mind for Grand Teton National Park.

• Craig Thomas Discovery & Visitors Center:

May 1, 8 am - 5 pm
June 7: 8 am - 7 pm

• Laurance S. Rockefeller Preserve Center:

June 3, 9 am - 5 pm

The Center is currently undergoing construction to repair the front porch that was damaged this winter due to snowfall.  If you are hiking or snowshoeing in the area, please adhere to closure signs.

• Jenny Lake Visitors Center:

May 19: 8 am - 5 pm
June 7: 8 am - 7 pm

• Jenny Lake Shuttle Service:
May 15: 9 am - 5 pm
June 16: 7 am - 7 pm

• Flagg Ranch:

June 5, 9 am - 4 pm

• Colter Bay:

May 12: 8 am - 5 pm
June 7: 8 am - 7 pm
