Power Outage Updates

Mother Nature made her presence known with a vengeance this week in Jackson Hole.  In response, our community is showing incredible resiliency and compassion in adjusting to the various challenges facing us.

Neighbors are helping neighbors shovel rooftops.  Hotels and restaurants are helping each other by shuffling guests to new rooms and making reservations for dinners.  Friends are having sleepovers for friends and co-workers who are without power.  It’s all about community and making the best of a challenging situation.

Here is what we currently know:

Jackson Hole Mountain Resort will be closed at a minimum through Monday.  The mountain will eventually offer refunds to visitors, however it is so overwhelmed at this time that immediate refunds are not available.  For more information and updates, please visit their website.

Residents and businesses in the Teton Village area will be without power for at least 5-7 days while the power poles and lines are rebuilt.  County officials are asking for no unnecessary travel to the Village.  This will allow power crews to work more effectively on repairing the poles and lines.

The airport is running on generator power and is open for business.  The airlines are offering vouchers to travelers coming to Jackson Hole, but travelers need to contact their airlines directly.  Also, please double-check your flight arrival and departures times.

Teton County released the following FAQ with information about the power outages.  FAQ link.

Please stay safe and use caution when traveling throughout the community.  Another winter storm is on its way, but we are looking forward to sunshine in the forecast this coming weekend.
