The tree is decorated, the mistletoe is hung and the snow is falling. It’s the perfect day to reopen the Clubhouse to our members for what promises to be a beautiful holiday season and an epic start for winter activities in the valley.
The snow started falling in earnest after Thanksgiving and we have close to 200” at Jackson Hole Mountain Resort. The golf course is now blanketed in a beautiful white coat and the Nordic trails are open for cross-country and skate skiing. While we are still waiting for the pond to fully freeze over, before long figure skaters and hockey players will be entertaining us with their spins and stick skills.
Out at the Village our private ski club across from the Tram has been bustling with activity and great stories of powder face shots. But the biggest news at the Resort is the new Sweetwater Gondola that will open this Saturday.
For those of you who love to ski the Casper area trails, you will now have a direct route to the base of Casper! The Sweetwater Gondola runs from the old Eagles Rest lift area and will significantly reduce your time to the runs and also free up space on the Teewinot and Apres Vous lifts.
The eight-person gondola will drop beginner skiers off at the top of the Solitude Run and then proceeds to the base of Casper. The ride is approximately 7.5 minutes to the top and can move 2,000 people per hour.
"This is an exciting time for JHMR," stated JHMR President, Jerry Blann. "Improving the out of base capacity will greatly enhance skier flow, and the Sweetwater Gondola will dramatically improve the beginner skier and rider experience," noted Blann.
Here at the Club, members can enjoy a variety of holiday activities throughout the New Year.
