You Won't Get Bored In Jackson This Christmas!

The holiday season brings a non-stop calendar of fun, music, Santa and so much more in Jackson Hole!  Whether you have company in town who you need to entertain, or you just want to fill your days with memorable music and activities, here's a list of ideas.

December 9 - Winter POP:
 Join Jackson Hole Public Art from 5 - 9 p.m. for a festive evening of art, food, beverages and music as they recreate Center Street as a Place of Possibility (POP). Enjoy video animations created by VJ Suave in collaboration with local students and artists.

December 9 - 13 - Snowed in for Christmas: The Jackson Hole Playhouse is performing another fabulous holiday play, Snowed in for Christmas, beginning December 9th and running through the month.

December 9 - 11 - The Wizard of Oz: Follow the Yellow Brick Road with Dancers’ Workshop as they present an original production of The Wizard of Oz. The musical will feature local students, community members and guest artists from Contemporary Dance Wyoming. Tickets on sale through the Center for the Arts Box Office.

December 9: Backcountry Zero Winter Bash: Come to Q Roadhouse at 6:30 pm for ski movies, live music, awesome beer, and a raffle. Meet the new Backcountry Zero Ambassadors. This event is free.

December 10 - TubaChristmas: From 12 - 1 p.m. at the National Museum of Wildlife Art, a TubaChristmas will entertain young and old alike with wonderful Christmas music.

December 10 - Virginian Craft Fair: The 22nd annual Christmas Craft Fair at the Virginian Convention Center is a great opportunity to fill the shopping list request. 10:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. and admission is free.

December 11 - Jingles in Jackson: Big City Broadway’s youth choir performs excerpts from the movie “A Christmas Story,” at the Silver Dollar Showroom.  The 25-minute performance features singing, tap dancing and acting. 5:30 – 6:30 pm.

December 14 - Gingerbread House Decorating: The Wort Hotel is hosting Gingerbread House Decorating fro 6-8 pm. Reservations required. This popular event always sells out so make your reservations early. 307-732-3960. Cost is $50 per house.

December 17 - JH Sports Winter Welcome: From 3:30 - 6 p.m., JH Sports and Teton County Search and Rescue (TCSAR) are excited to host the first ever 'Winter Welcome' to kick off the 2016/17 season! On December 17th, JH Sports is partnering with Teton County Search and Rescue to raise money for the organizations year round efforts protecting the locals and visitors of Jackson. The event will consist of free demos throughout the day at the Casper Demo Center with donations going to Teton County Search and Resecue, 10% off store wide at JH Sports (15% for pass holders), a presentation from TCSAR, and a raffle with a grand prize valued at over $1,800.

December 17 - Holiday Concert:  The Jackson Hole Community Band is performing a festive concert from 6-8 pm. Enjoy traditional favorites and some new selections. Please bring a non perishable food item for the JH Food Cupboard. The concert is free and open to the public. 

December 22 - Santa Visits Targhee: Santa will visit the Plaza at Grand Targhee Resort from 11 - 3 p.m.

December 23 - Silver Dollar Ugly Sweater Holiday Party: You know you have one!  The Silver Dollar Bar will host an Ugly Sweater Holiday Party at 7:30 pm. Jackson 6 will perform live Jazz and there will be a prize for ugliest sweater.

December 24: Santa Drops in Teton Village: Santa makes his annual appearance, riding “Big Red” at the Base of the Aerial Tram in Teton Village at 4:30 p.m.

December 24 - Silver Dollar Christmas Eve: On Christmas Eve, the Silver Dollar will host live music with Dixieland Jazz and Drink Specials.

December 25 - Ski with Santa: On Christmas, you can ski with Santa at Jackson Hole Mountain Resort.

December 25: Christmas at the King: Join Santa at Snow King Christmas day for skiing, tubing, and some coaster rides. Snow King Mountain will be open from 9:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. for the Christmas Holiday.

December 25 - Christmas Day Jazz with Chanman Trio: From 6 - 10 p.m. on Christmas Day, The Chanman Trio will playing Christmas jazz at the Silver Dollar Bar.

December 26 - Cookie Decorating at Kids Ranch: From 4 - 5 p.m. at Kids Ranch at Jackson Hole Mountain Resort, each child can decorate a cookie and take it home.

December 27 - Cats and Dogs: Everybody wants to meet an avalanche dog and handler, then you mix that with a tour of a snowcat and you've covered it all, big trucks, cool dogs, safety first. Join the fun at the Kids Ranch from 4 - 5 p.m. at Jackson Hole Mountain Resort.

December 28 - Stargazing: Drop by Teton Mountain Lodge fro 5-6 pm to hear from a local expert about the amazing galaxy of stars you can see from this corner of heaven.

December 29 - Raptor Night: From 4 - 5 p.m. at Hotel Terra in Teton Village, enjoy Hawks, Eagles, Owls and Falcons take the center stage at the Kids Ranch. Experience an incredible, up-close learning opportunity with live birds of prey presented by the Teton Raptor Center.

December 30 - Sledding in Village Commons: Go sledding in Village Commons in Teton Village, from 4-5 pm and whiz down the hill and warm up by the fire. Hot Cocoa and cookies will be served for some sweet fun!

December 30 - January 3 - Winter Wonderland: Ice Skating on Town Square: Starting at 4 p.m. each day, there will be ice skating on Town Square. 

December 31 - Targhee New Year's Eve Torchlight Parade and Fireworks: Come watch or participate in the annual Torchlight Parade at Grand Targhee Resort. The Kid’s Glowstick Parade is perfect for kids between 5 and 14 who possess basic turning and stopping skills. Participation is limited so register early. Kids meet time is 4:00 pm at Ski & Snowboard School, and their parade is at 4:00 pm Registration is throughout the day at Ski School for the Torchlight Parade. Adult’s Torchlight parade is open to skiers and riders 12 and up and space is limited. Roadside flares are used and old clothing is recommended. Meet at 4:45 pm at the Ski School. Parade starts about 5:45 pm. Fireworks show immediately to follow.

December 31 - JHMR Kid's Glowworm Parade and Fireworks: Starting at 4:45, kids can meet at Kids Ranch in Teton Village, This New Years' tradition substitutes glow sticks for torch lights. Ride the Sweetwater Gondola and form the human parade of lights down Eagles Rest. Kids up to 14 years old, who are comfortable skiing Teewinot, are welcome to participate. Meet at Sweetwater Gondola ready to ski at 4:45pm. Come dressed with skis and boots (no poles please). We'll shoot for a 5:30pm Glowworm Parade. Participation is free and sign up is not required. Parents are not required to accompany skiers.  Followed by the Torchlight Parade and Fireworks in the Commons.

December 31 - Snow King NYE Fireworks & Torchlight Parade: On New Year's Eve, Snow King Mountain will host its annual NYE Fireworks & Torchlight Parade starting at 7 p.m.

December 31 - Silver Dollar New Year's Eve Party: From 8:00 pm - 12:00 am, Silver Dollar Showroom, dance in the New Year with 6 Foot 2. Party favors and midnight toast.

December 31 - Cure For The Common: On New Years Eve, Cure for the Common will play a show at 8:30 pm at the Mangy Moose.

December 31 - Mark Farina: On New Years Eve, Mark Farina will play a show at  9:00 pm at the Pink Garter Theatre.

December 31 - Sneaky Pete & the Secret Weapons: On New Years Eve, Sneaky Pete & the Secret Weapons will play a show at 10:00 pm at Town Square Tavern.

December 31 - Sandee Brooks and Beyond Control: On New Years Eve, Sandee Brooks and Beyond Control will play a love show at the Million Dollar Cowboy Bar.

January 1 - Happy Birthday New Year Party: From 4 - 5 p.m. at Kids Ranch at Jackson Hole Mountain Resort, celebrate the New Year.
