2016 Rees Jones Invitational

Fall was definitely in the air Monday morning as we teed up the 2016 Rees Jones Invitational in Jackson Hole.   A murky layer of smoke lay over the Teton Range from the fires in northern Grand Teton National Park, Yellowstone and our neighbors in Idaho.  Luckily as the sun rose and warmed the valley, the winds took the smoke away and we had a spectacular day for the event.

The Invitational, named for the designer and architect of 3 Creek Ranch Golf Club, Rees Jones, is an annual event focused on raising funds to support the Community Foundation of Jackson Hole.

Rees Jones, along with this year’s special guest, Nick Price and former honoree, Tom Crow were all in attendance, sharing golf stories, honoring friendships and of course getting in a few rounds of golf.

Nick Price charmed the Club members and their guests Sunday evening at the kick-off cocktail reception with stories of his career and his love for the game.  Nick turned pro in 1977 and has won countless PGA and international tournaments.  He was inducted into the World Golf Hall of Fame as its 99th member is 2003.

Price is now focused on designing courses in the U.S., Mexico, Dominican Republic and South Africa.  He will captain the Internationals in the 2017 event at Liberty National in Jersey City, New Jersey.

Each year in Jackson Hole, the Community Foundation of Jackson Hole hosts Old Bill’s Fun Run to raise funds to support the many non-profits in our valley, and to provide grants and scholarships to worthy projects and deserving students.  3 Creek Ranch Golf Club is proud to once again be a Co-Challenger for the event.   This year we set our goal at $100,000 and while we are still completing the tally, we are certain we will exceed that goal thanks to our generous members and guests who participated.

You can donate to your favorite non-profits or directly to the Community Foundation through September 16th.  The Community Foundation will then match those funds based on a percentage with the donations provided by the Co-Challengers.

We look forward to seeing you on the Town Square for Old Bill’s Fun Run on Saturday, September 10th at 10:00 am!
