Giving Back To The Community

Old Bill's Fun RunEach fall they gather on the Town Square, revelers in tutus, antlers, brightly colored wigs, business logoed t-shirts and creative costumes.  There was even a bride and groom one year!  Dogs, kids and strollers abound under a massive American flag hanging from the ladder of two Jackson Hole fire trucks.

It can only be one event, Old Bill’s Fun Run, benefiting the Community Foundation of Jackson Hole.

Celebrating its 20th year, Old Bill’s Fun Run proceeds have helped local charities raise over $121 million, touching the lives of thousands.   In 2015, over $10 million was raised by 3,411 donors.

For a small community, Jackson Hole has an unusually high number of non-profit organizations that help support the needs of the community.  From helping house the homeless and homeless pets, feeding the hungry, providing art programs for student and seniors, to wildlife and nature conservation organizations – each of these non-profits play a unique role in the community.  They also all need funding which is where Old Bill’s Fun Run comes in.

From August 1st – September 16th, individuals can make contributions to the Community Foundation on behalf of their favorite local charities.  The non-profit organizations can raise as much money as they wish, and then the Community Foundation matches up to the first $30,000 based on percentage calculation.  The matching funds are provided by individuals and businesses in the community who have stepped up to be “Co-Challengers.”

Giving back to the community it a top priority of 3 Creek Ranch Golf Club’s members and the Club is honored to once again serve as a Co-Challenger for Old Bill’s Fun Run.  We encourage everyone to give what they can to support your favorite non-profit organizations in the valley.  The amazing work and support these organizations provide to enhance our community is priceless.  To make a donation, please visit the Community Foundation of Jackson Hole’s website.
