Fall Arts Festival 2015

Just as the mountain men and trappers descended on Jackson Hole in the early years, painters, sculptors, jewelry makers, fashion designers and many other creators of art have followed in their footsteps and arrived for this year’s Fall Arts Festival.

September 10-20th locals and visitors can enjoy a vast array of gallery feature shows, quick draw competitions, culinary delights, fashion shows and art auctions.

Each year the Festival features a key artist and his or her work.  This year, the man who was instrumental in starting the Festival 30 years ago is being honored – Bill Schenck.   Schenck is known for his photo-realism style and for bringing the pop art movement to Western art.

Originally from Columbus, Ohio, Schenck spent his summer exploring the wilderness near Lander, Wyoming and fell in love with the west.  His work can be found in collections throughout the world, including the Smithsonian Institution, Denver Art Museum, The Autry Museum of Western Heritage and many more.

Schenck’s work is being featured at Altamira Gallery during the Fall Arts Festival.

Friday evening mix an evening stroll, art gazing and culinary delights during Palates & Palettes when more than 30 galleries open their doors to showcase art, food and wine.  A list of galleries and participating caterers/restaurants are available in the local papers and at the Chamber of Commerce.

The Western Design Conference and Exhibit Sale is open through Sunday, September 13 from 10 am – 5 pm at the Snow King Center.  This is an incredible opportunity to explore some of the finest Western designs including fashion, furniture, jewelry and home accessories.

Gather on the Town Square on Sunday, September 13th for Takin’ It To The Streets art show, The Taste of the Tetons and the Rotary Supper Club’s Wine Tasting and Silent Auction.   At Taste of the Tetons, enjoy bites from restaurants and caterers from around the valley.  Pickin’ in the Park will provide live musical entertainment as you saunter over to the Rotary tent where you can taste a variety of wines and bid on array of silent auction items that will benefit Honoring Our Veterans therapeutic recreation program and other community projects.  11 am – 4 pm.

More than the ordinary walk-through, the Jackson Hole Showcase of Homes has a superb catch: face-to-face conversations with the finest professionals in architecture, construction, interior design, landscaping, and electronic systems. They will reveal the art--and perhaps the magic--behind their achievements in some of the most exciting living spaces in the west. Hosted by Homestead Magazine. Limited tickets available.
