Celebrating Dad!

When it comes to Father’s Day in Jackson Hole, there are endless activities and events you can enjoy to celebrate with your Dad.

At 3 Creek, many of our Dad’s will be out sharing the game of golf with their Dads or their families.  And when they approach the Turn Stand, the enticing smell of barbecue will greet them as we have a terrific spread waiting for their mid-round break.

Another annual Father Day festivity is RaptorFest, held at the Teton Raptor Center in Wilson.  Dad and kids alike have the opportunity to get up close and personal with Owly the Great Horned Owl, Gus the Golden Eagle and many other live raptors from 1-5 pm on Sunday.  There will be live music, kids activities and learning opportunities.  Take the free START bus from the Stilson parking lot and please leave your dog at home.  $5 per person or $10  per family.

It’s slated to be a spectacular weekend weather wise and the Snake River is finally starting to clear up.  That means fishing is on!  Drop by your local fly shop, find out what’s biting and have the guides put together a great selection of flies, a great gift for Dad!

And if hiking is Dad’s favorite thing, the trails have cleared up from all of the rain we have received, so the skies the limit on where you want to go.  Solitude Lake, Curtis Canyon, Phelps Lake ~ any hike would be great quality time with Dad.

And to wrap up Father’s Day, the first Jackson Hole Live concert of the season kicks off at Snow King on Sunday evening at 5:30, featuring the John Butler Trio with Anderson East and Patrick Chadwick.  The John Butler Trio is an eclectic roots/jam band from Australia.  www.johnbutlertrio.com

No matter what your Dad likes to enjoy on his special day, let him know you truly appreciate the love, guidance, laughter and friendship he has provided!
