TETON VIEWS

Grand Teton National Park sits in Jackson’s backyard and the peaks that make up the famous sky-line provide endless opportunities for recreation year-round.

The park offers hundreds of miles of trail that takes hikers to remote mountain lakes, stunning vistas and even the tops of its iconic peaks. The Snake River, made famous in Ansel Adam’s photo “Snake River Overlook,” provides scenic floats through the park. Front country lakes, like String Lake, fill in the summer with swimmers and those on stand-up paddleboards. Motorized boating is even allowed on Jackson Lake.

GRAND TETON NATIONAL PARK

The fall provides some of the best time to see the wildlife including bison, moose, elk, antelope and bears, that call the park home. In the spring cyclists, walkers and joggers enjoy the inner-park road before its open to cars. The same stretch of road is groomed for classic and cross-country skiers in the winter. Nordic skiers and snowshoes can explore off-trail.

THE FIRST National Park

It’s easy to understand why Yellowstone National Park became the world’s first national park in 1872. It is otherworldly with gurgling mud pots, boiling jewel-toned pools and geysers spewing water more than 100-feet into the air.

Yellowstone also offers some of the best wildlife viewing in the world. Bison block the roads and elk graze near the hotels. You might even spot a grizzly bear from your car. You’ll find waterfalls, towering peaks and hundreds of miles of boardwalks for easy exploring and backcountry trails for the more adventurous.
